Can Italy Prepaid SIM cards (GSM) be purchased from outside Italy at a
reasonable price? The ones I have seen advertised are ridiculously
expensive.

They are all marked up. telestial, planetomni, etc. You are paying for the
convenience, and they have to work to get the SIMs to them.
